Most ads on Indian YouTube are paid for by Indian businesses in INR. Creators receive only a portion of the ad revenue, while a significant share goes to YouTube. This means that instead of bringing USD into India, a portion of India's advertising spend is effectively converted into USD and flows abroad. In that sense, Indian YouTubers are not generating foreign exchange for the country; they are largely monetizing money that already originates within India.
