Raj represents the people who thinks of themselve as ultra-rational. Come up with something mysterious and they will start saying, " Placebo-faith". Why don't they understand that faith itself is a psychological thing. They always talk about being confident where confidence itself works on psychological level. Thats not even the problem. The problem is when they start disrespecting the " niche" bcz its beyond their understanding. See, everything that is based upon the research deserves attention and respect.
