I hug my best friend Mohona whenever I feel like it, even when we simply meet, and it gives me so much comfort and happiness. So yes, it’s absolutely true that hugs are very effective. Even when you’re feeling extremely stressed or stuck, a hug can bring a lot of relief. And to those commenting that hugging is something you can only do if you have a partner, please broaden your mindset a little. A partner comes much later in life—before that, there are already so many people who love you: your parents, family members, friends, best friends, etc. Hug the people you truly cherish. There’s no rule anywhere that says hugs are meant only for partners.
